Template, not legal advice. This page was written as a sensible starting point for a digital download store. Read it, edit it so it matches what you actually sell, and have a lawyer look at it before you take real money.
What you may do
When you buy a collection you get a perpetual, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the files for personal purposes. You may set them as wallpapers or lock screens on any number of devices you personally own, and keep your copies indefinitely.
What you may not do
- · Resell, sublicense, rent or redistribute the files, altered or not.
- · Use them in client work, advertising, or any commercial product.
- · Print them for sale, or reproduce them on physical goods.
- · Upload them to wallpaper apps, stock sites, NFT marketplaces or file-sharing services.
- · Claim authorship of the images, or train a machine-learning model on them.
Commercial use
Commercial licences are available and are handled case by case. Email hello@canvaslabs.com with what you have in mind.
Ownership
Copyright in every image remains with Canvas Labs. Buying a collection buys the licence described above, not the artwork itself.
